Check Valve Assembly

Check Valve AssemblyA compact, self-contained unit that includes a check valve and an inverted shuttle valve. It can be used in full power brake systems that have the requirement to store energy in two separate accumulator circuits. Potential applications are split systems with a pressure compensated pump or electrohydraulic charging controlled by a pressure transducer at the switch port.

The inverted shuttle valve of the check valve assembly isolates the higher pressure of the two accumulator circuits and directs the lower of the two to the switch port. A check valve prevents pressure at the switch port from leaking back to the inlet port. Pressure to the accumulators is supplied at the inlet port.

There are several key advantages to using this check valve assembly that will help to reduce your costs in a system of this type.

Integrated Accumulator Charge Valve/Pump Package

Integrated Accumulator Charge Valve/Pump PackageThis is an integrated package featuring a MICO Dual Accumulator Charge Valve and a Haldex W900 Gear Pump to accomplish the accumulator charge function. The accumulator charge valve controls the pressure in redundant accumulators used in two or more brake circuits.

Brake circuits are protected from pressure spikes at startup by an internal pressure relief valve. Excess flow from the valve may be used for steering, cooling, or implement functions.

Hydraulic Brake System with ABS and Traction Control

Hydraulic Brake System with ABS and Traction ControlMICO has been supplying manufacturers of off-highway equipment with reliable full power brake systems for over 30 years. MICO can now offer full power brake systems with ABS and traction control.

Utilizing state-of-the-art technology with proven high-reliability components, the system can improve vehicle performance and operator safety. A system of this type provides shorter stopping distances, improved vehicle stability, and enhanced traction for vehicles driven under extreme operating conditions. The system is designed to handle up to 8 channels of ABS and traction control.

Starting with a full power system that employs brakes, a tandem modulating pedal valve, an accumulator charging system and dual accumulators. The traction control system uses:
  • Speed sensors to monitor the speed of each wheel
  • Electronic control unit to send current to the traction control and ABS valves
  • Electrohydraulic traction control valves to pilot operate the tandem modulating pedal valve
  • Electrohydraulic ABS valves to proportionally control the pressure at the brakes
  • CAN bus using SAE J1939 protocols to communicate with the engine controller
  • Brake warning lamps for operator warning and diagnostics
  • ABS control switch to turn the ABS on or off and status lamps for operator information
  • Traction control switch to turn the traction control on or off and status lamps for operator information
The electronic control unit used in the system was developed specifically for applications in the harsh environment of mobile equipment. All inputs and outputs have been protected against shorts or over voltage and have built in diagnostics. The robust aluminum housing provides IP 65 protection and offers high immunity to electromagnetic disturbances.

Hydraulic Brake System with Traction Control

Hydraulic Brake System with Traction ControlMICO has been supplying manufacturers of off-highway equipment with reliable full power brake systems for over 30 years. MICO can now offer full power brake systems with traction control.

Utilizing state-of-the-art technology with proven high-reliability components, the system can help maintain traction with the ground and reduce wheel spin in poor environmental conditions often experienced with off-highway vehicles. The system is designed to handle up to 8 channels of traction control.

Starting with a full power system that employs brakes, a tandem modulating pedal valve, an accumulator charging system and dual accumulators. The traction control system uses:

  • Speed sensors to monitor the speed of each wheel
  • Traction control electronic control unit to send current to the traction control valves when wheel spin occurs
  • Electrohydraulic traction control valves to proportionally control the pressure at the brakes
  • CAN bus using SAE J1939 protocols to communicate with the engine controller
  • Brake warning lamps for operator warning and diagnostics
  • Traction control switch to turn the traction control on or off and status lamps for operator information
The electronic control unit used in the system was developed specifically for applications in the harsh environment of mobile equipment. Hydraulic Anti-lock Brake System

Hydraulic Anti-lock Brake SystemFor more than 30 years OEMs of off-highway equipment have chosen MICO Full Power Brake Systems to reliably stop their vehicles. Now you can rely on MICO to provide you with the first full power hydraulic brake system with ABS.

Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, the hydraulic ABS (HABS) will provide shorter stopping distance with improved vehicle stability and control during aggressive braking situations. The system is designed to handle 8 channels, or less, of HABS control.

Starting with a full power system that employs brakes, a tandem modulating pedal valve, an accumulator charging system and dual accumulators. The Anti-lock Brake System uses:

  • Speed sensors to monitor the speed of each wheel.
  • ABS electronic control unit to send current to the ABS valves when wheel slip occurs.
  • Electrohydraulic ABS valves to proportionally control the pressure at the brakes.
  • Pressure transducers and software algorithms for diagnostics.
In addition to these basic components, additional inputs and outputs can be added to the system. For example, keyed power or ABS on/off switch signals are typical. Outputs to drive the stop lamps, low traction and brake warning indicator lights can be added. Other inputs and outputs can be custom designed as required - including CAN communications based on SAE J1939, ISO 11783 or other protocols used in your system.

The ABS controller was developed specifically for applications in the harsh environment of mobile equipment. All inputs and outputs have been protected against shorts or over voltage and have built in diagnostics. The robust aluminum housing provides IP 65 protection and offers high immunity to electromagnetic disturbances.

Object Detection Brake Interlock System

MICO Object Detection Brake Interlock systems provide visual and audible signals to a vehicle operator while backing up. When the vehicle moves within a predetermined distance of an obstacle, these systems automatically apply the service brakes to stop the vehicle.

There are two systems available. One is for vehicles with hydraulic brakes and the other is for vehicles with air brakes. Both systems create a radar detection zone to identify stationary and moving objects that may be obscured from an operator's view.

A technology alliance with Preco Electronics has allowed MICO to develop these new products. Coupling MICO Brake Interlocks with a high-quality proximity radar sensor increases vehicle safety with no impact on normal vehicle braking.

Digital Pressure Gauge

Digital Pressure GaugeMICO Digital Pressure Gauges are the versatile and economical choice for a wide variety of applications. These are 10,000 PSI gauges with terminal point accuracy, which allows re-zeroing to eliminate sensor offset. Full scale .5% terminal point accuracy includes linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability.

The standard MICO gauge has a chemical resistant NorylŪ case and comes with a protective boot, which has an IP54 rating. They are also available with 12" or 36" hoses and a 16-piece fitting kit. MICO gauges meet ASME B40.7 standard and comes with a CE approval.

Other standard features of these gauges include nine engineering units of measure, 5 digit display with 1/2" character size, backlight, minimum and maximum pressure indication, and a welded stainless steel 1/4" pipe socket and sensor. Their proof pressure is 120% of the range and their burst pressure is 150% of the range.
